Weingut Paulinshof · Mosel, Germany
Riesling from parcels of red slate, which gives more warmth and depth in the soil than the more common blue. Clean, mineral and fresh.
Vom Roten Schiefer means "from the red slate". Red slate is less common in the Mosel than the blue kind, and gives a different character: a touch more warmth and depth.
Pale yellow with green highlights. White grapefruit, lime, green apples, and a clear mineral undertone that recalls wet stone on the nose. Crisp acidity, clean fruit, and a mineral finish that holds.
The Jüngling family farms slate vineyards in the Middle Mosel, including Brauneberger Kammer, which the family owns in its entirety.
