Weingut Engel

Weingut Engel sits in Flörsheim-Dalsheim, at the southern edge of the Rheinhessen sub-region Wonnegau. Albrecht Engel took over the estate after training with Wittmann, Gutzler and Christmann, and today farms around 11 hectares across parcels in Frauenberg and Goldberg (Nieder-Flörsheim), Bürgel and Hubacker (Dalsheim), Sauloch and Zellerweg am Schwarzen Herrgott (Mölsheim).

In the cellar the working principle is “so wenig Einflussnahme wie nötig” — as little intervention as necessary. Grapes are hand-picked, fermentations run on native yeasts, several wines see long maceration, age on lees or in barrel, and are bottled unfiltered.
